Between the terra-cota colored brick, the mellow brown wooden door, the green ivy, the touch of gilt on the number 32 above the door, and the pattern of sunlight and shade, this little vista is very … tweedy, I think! Just right for the last day of August!? It seems that there are many such views in these pages; enter “tweed” in the search box to the right for about half a dozen of them!
Some morning effects: long shadows and some leaves that are back-lit and others that are just plain lit (all outlined by lovely deep brown trunks and branches) — so pretty!
More on the topic of brick: most of the interior walls of my flat here are brick with lovely old exposed wood beams too . . . here’s the view from the bedroom window, showing two brick palettes, the interior mainly browns and reds, the exterior, brows and greys.
