These window panes (with a little boost from instagram) look like paint chips in a narrow spectrum of aqua to pale lavender ~
Such a pretty arrangement for a fire hydrant: painted mostly an antique cream, highlighted with a turquoise stripe, all framed by flowers in soft pink … find another hydrant featured in these pages here. The one above is much “cooler”!
It may be hard to detect, but for this project I learned a way of casting on that accomplishes a first row of knit-purl ribbing (very fancy!). I followed the directions in the video here (scroll down to “Method 5: Rib Cable Cast-On”). I always get lost in a first row of ribbing, ending up with some deviations from the knit-one-purl-one pattern, so using this method was worth the effort!
The variety of these things seems to be endless! Love the lime green wheel thingies on this one …
