The return of a very occasional series: the mail box series! For the most recent two entries in the series, see this post here and this one here. Those two suggest that the series might also be called “the mail boxes of Lopez Island”! For a few more, click on “mail boxes” in the drop down box under “categories” on the right hand side of this page.
First: the view of the mail on its way to this mailbox …
Such a pretty specimen! It might be a little hard to tell, but the circle at the top of the arch, the one with the six-armed star inside it?–it a water faucet handle!
Since this is my third post on mail boxes, it’s time to turn it in to an official series — even though this mail box is one in name only (as in, it’s more a slot than a box!). Still, it’s quite picturesque, in the way of my other two bird themed mail boxes!
These two birds’ nests resting on a mailbox make an interesting variation on my bird-mail atop snail-mail post of last February (see that here).
