This alley is bright even when its sunshine is taken away!
The setting sun was just catching the top branches of the tree in the background here, which is why its branches are so bright.
This cascade of branches and leaves looks so intricate against the peach-colored wall and many sizes of blue rectangles ~
Painting of a tree on a tall canvas; or: shadow of a tree on a wall … striking in either case!
This handsome pair is Frank Kayley Shuttleworth, Nancy’s father and one of the Rust kids’ grandfathers with one of his grandfathers, Francis Sokol, the father of Blanche, aka “Nanny” Shuttleworth (née Sokol), Frank’s mother and Nancy’s grandmother. (Blanche’s mother–Francis’s wife and Frank’s grandmother on this side–was Anna Bezdichek). Frank was born in 1899, so this picture, taken when he looks to be around five (?) would have been taken in the aughts of the twentieth century. For a really great reprise of the W. D. Shuttleworth family (who wrote this?), see this site here.
A pale corsican rosé … especially for an evening after a day of having taken a Citicarshare car to go look at a certain house (!!), the route home from which passed by Kermit Lynch. Read about this wine at their site here.
